strepsils? safe in pregnancy

so are they? because the instruction say get advice from a doc of Pg before takign them. but my pg friend is takign them now

It says on the packet not to use in pg.

Any idea how far along she is? Might be best avoided up to 16 weeks (which is the advice I was given when I had a streaming cold at 12 weeks). But that was a looooong time ago and advice/ingredients may have changed since then.

I think anything that says "use under supervision" is ok, the supervision part just covers them and means you have taken advise on dosing/had anything else ruled out

Anything that says "dont take" or "not recommended" says it for a reason, quite often that reason might be that its untested, but may weel be ok.

"The use of Kalgaron or Strepsils during pregnancy was not associated with an increased risk of malformations, spontaneous abortions or decreased birthweight. However, larger studies are needed to confirm the safety of these medications during pregnancy."
