I have had a wierd throat for few weeks. Sore throat and annoying cough. Nothing would shift it and ds caught a cold when started pre school last month and he is same and even took him to doc as been going on so long and there is no infecetion etc.

Anyway went to chemist and said what can i take for my throat being that im pg. He went through loads of diff ones going no not that one etc and gave me meltus. Have taken a few doses today and just read the leaflet and it says it contains alcohol. It also says :
warning : alcohol can be dangerous for those.....as well as for pg women and children.

Why has he given me this when i specifically said what can i take thats safe? If it has a warning surely that isnt safe? I havent drunk any alcohol in this pg and dont agree with it personally. It is 96% alcohol. each 5ml dose contains 0.38g of alcohol.

in english what is that the equivalent to drinking?

One unit of alcohol = 10g alcohol.
A unit is a small glass of wine.
So you would have to take about 30 pills to equal the amount of alcohol in a small glass of wine.

And even a small glass of wine isn't dangerous, the amount of tablets you'd have to take would make you ill first!
