I am 35 weeks, and my back is killing me, a dull ache like a period pain, as well as tightning in the front.

I know I am not in labour, but what can I do? I have been on my ball for ages, mobilised my back and have had hot baths. Anything else?

I just want this all to be over and #2 to appear!!!

do you know what position the is baby in? My DS was back to back (can't remember the correct term) and it was absolute agony on the back for about the last 4 weeks. he was also quite large when born 9lb 13oz so I think that didn't help either. If baby is in this position you can try spending some time on all fours (yes really) to encourage him/her to move.

I found leaning over the ball very good both for relieving the pain in my back and for the baby's position.

I am also 35 weeks and I am like the biggest old crock imaginable. I feel about 70 and am shuffling round wincing at every twinge like an old granny. My husband thinks I'm laying it on with a trowel and keeps raising his eyes to heaven whenever I hove into view. But honestly, everything aches! Particularly my pelvis and my lower back.

This is my second pregnancy too and it's sooo different from no. 1 when I was smugly skipping round and doing yoga till the very end, being complimented on how 'neat' I was (I am a complete heffalump this time round).

By the evening, a hot water bottle in the small of my back is the only thing that works for me. It's very comforting, so give it a go (I also thought it was great in labour last time round).
