Sacroiliitis after childbirth - help!

About 12 hours after I had my daughter a couple of years ago I had the most awful pain in my leg and literally couldn't move an inch. I was told that my body had released too much relaxin during childbirth, which had affected my sacroiliac joint. I was in hospital for 3 weeks and it was a full 9 months before I could walk properly. Looking after my daughter - apart from the pain and the psychological stress - was, needless to say, a nightmare.
Now I am 37 weeks pregnant with my second child and in the past week, my leg has been hurting again. I am terrified that when I give birth I will have a repeat of what I went through last time.
Has anyone else been through this? Does anyone know if a c-section might help (my dr last time - at a different hospital to the one I am registered with now - implied it might be 'something I should consider') and whether I would qualify if the aim was to prevent a recurrence of the sacroiliitis? Any other advice?
Thanks
