anyone have an amby nest? what is is like please?

looking into buying one but would like to hear some reports from people who have tried them .many thanks.

I have heard these are really good but I contacted the SIDS organisation and they said they only recommended beds where the baby is lying on a flat firm surface, like a moses basket, so that put me off.

On the other hand, I read old mumsnet threads which said there had never been a case of cot death in one of these and they are amazingly good for getting the baby off. Do a search for the name if you want a read.

I loved mine (for ds3) wish I'd had one for ds2 who also refused to lie flat on his back so slept on his side from the beginning. He would have been fine in an amby.

I used a breathing monitor thingy in mine.

I loved ours and DD slept very well in it till 10 months.

I am looking at getting one too but the above SIDS comment has worried me...

I used one of these as a nanny and my charge loved it, she was in it until 18mth by which point she could wriggle out!!!! The transition to a cot/bed was easy too as i was dreading this.
I am just in the process of getting one for my baby too.

We have one. Used it from day one with both ds1 and ds2. It is wonderful. Still have it, but ds3 (11 weeks) will not sleep anywhere except in our bed or in a sling. Not selling it yet as dh is holding out false hope that ds3 will sleep in it soon

My ds had severe reflux and couldnt lay flat so we bought one of these. It was the best thing we bought for him and wished we had it since his birth. It also helps settle them if they wake themselves as their own movement makes it rock them a bit. It is rubbish for transportation if you wanted it say to take a day trip somewhere as you have to break it down completely and the metal poles are heavy but mine came with a bag to put it all in so i dont think its any worse than using a travel cot if you planned on staying away anywhere. You can also buy a door bouncer thing specifially by amby that clips onto the frame which is quite amusing to watch! I found it didnt last that long though as ds started to turn over v young so he was out of his by 4 months.
