I went to the toilet last night and found very light blood about size of a 2p just wondering if anyone knows what this is. i thought it might be the mucus plug but wouldnt that be thicker than normal fluid? Has anyone had similar and found out what it was?

you should call your MW. sometimes you can have a cervical erosion and it is nothing sinister, but you can have spotting, esp. after sex.

but do call

Sorry if being too personal, sometimes you bleed when you have sex - but I assume you have counted this out - sorry if TMI!

I think if there is any bleeding then it is worth just checking with the midwife. Even though it is the weekend there should be an emergency contact number.

Call your maternity unit to let them know you have had a small bleed. This happened to me at 34 weeks and they told me to go to the unit to get checked out. All was fine though, but to be on the safe side and to put your mind at rest give them a call!

I had this too with my first pregnancy at exactly the same point. They kept me in hospital, checked the baby regularly and sent me home two nights later. I was told that it sometimes happens ... no reason they could find. My daughter was born at 41 weeks, perfectly healthy and a lovely weight.

Hopefully, you've been to hospital by now. You and baby have been monitored and you are back home..

If you haven't contacted the MWs, you should
