I'm just over 12 weeks pregnant and since i told my partner ( week 4) he has shown me very little affection. It's as if I have suddenly turn from his girlfriend into this baby carrier that should not be touched. I have tried showing him the books and advice that say sex is perfectly healthy as long as it is comfortable but it doesn't seem to work. He has said he will have sex "if it will make me happy", i've got to be honest and say it completely lacks affection and may as well not happen. He is so scared of hurting the baby and or can't get his head around having sex whilst there is a baby in there that I'm really missing affection.

He is also avoiding showing me affection, hugs, cuddles, kissses or anything that I may interpret as a come on. Not just that but even the basics have stopped. I'm feeling quite low and in desperate need of some tlc. I've tried telling him but he says i'm over reacting and hormonal, which i know I can be but this has been going on for weeks.

Is anyone else experiencing similar?

Hey lecohen, sorry to sound like i am moaning all the time. i know its his hang up but am aware that in a few months i know i prob wont feel like it at all. We are bickering alot, alot more than i'd like, he still does cuddle and kiss me, but not as much as normal ( but then it could be the same amount, just now i need that reassurance i feel like there is no affection) does that make sense. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i feel like i am going mad, i have no one i can talk to or confide in, as got made redundant a few weeks ago, am like a solo day in day out, so obviously the moe time on my hands the more i think bout it which just makes the situation worse.

Yes, they can be really uncomfortable!

Isn't it funny how it suddenly dawns on them that we matter too lol.

Sometimes I feel like I want my hub to see me in pain just so he can realise that he needs to be more sympathetic to my needs.

Keep smiling x

i sympathise with all of you, just be reassured that all us pregnant women are gorgeous, mine still wont have sex with me, but i am now coming to realise that the more i pressurise him the more distant he becomes, so although its hard i am leaving the subject alone, hoping that in time things will change. big hugs to you all xx
