3 miscarriages! I really want to be happy now!

Hi, i went for a scan yesterday and i was 8wks 3days and they found a heartbeat which is great and i should be happy but i can't,
Ive had 3 misscarriages all before 12 weeks and i dont even know cause the heartbeat just stops!
How can i be happy, i really want to be. Im just so worried. The scan department wont let me have another scan until 12wks cause they havent found anything wrong. I told them all my babies have died by 9wks 2days and i dont know about it until 12 wk scan, but they just dont seem to care.
I really want to be happy!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Netty, I am so sorry to hear about your previous losses. Have you spoken to your GP about your fears? I had to really push for a scan when I thought my pregnancy was ectopic.

Have you thought about paying for a private scan? When I was pregnant they were about 100 pounds. I really hope it works out for you this time x

I have thought about a private scan but im not sure i can afford £100.
I feel a bit daft going to the doctors so soon after i had a scan that said everything was ok. But i think i will go on monday and hopefully he will let me have another scan. Fingers crossed. xx

netty, i know exactly where you're coming from. i'm 11+4wks pg, on my 5th pg - a 9yr old DD and x3 mc's in last year. I've been really negative for the past 2.5 months and am fed up feeling miserable/worried when this should be an exciting time. I've been really really lucky as my local EPU has been fab and my named MW is a complete star and has been a huge support to me. I have been brutally honest with them and told them I needed to be scanned regularly otherwise my mental health is seriously affected and that surely isn't good for the baby. (I've had about 5 scans, most recent this afternoon . I would put forward your case really strongly and insist you get scanned in at least 2wks. They must realise that getting past 9wks will be a big milestone and IMO it's cruel of them to make you wait. FFS a 10 min appointment to check for a FH is not too much to ask. It makes me that they're so dismissive of the impact having 3 never mind 1 mc has on you. Sorry rant over. Good luck xx

congratulations netty! i sympathise... i'm not sure if it helped but i bought some natural progesterone cream from the internet and used it everyday until 13 weeks as i read somewhere a lack of progesterone can cause mc, i also popped the odd baby asprin....

i had an early scan on nhs at 7+5 then a private one at 9+5 which kept me going to the 12 week nhs scan, then did private again at 16, nhs 20, private 25 and next one is nhs next week at 32 weeks, the scans have kept me sane so i understand!

if you want another scan before 12 weeks you could see your GP complaining of major back ache and stomach cramps and they will HAVE to scan you incase of an etopic...
