my bump is pretty darn big. i've gained a ton of weight during this pregnancy and my bump is huge - disproportionally so according to my hubby. he says i look like a toffee apple on two sticks . i have gestational diabetes but have it under control with diet.

having said that my first ds was 7lb when born. i'm wondering does my bump size mean i've got a whopper in me? or is it just bad luck or something else? i've got a growth scan booked for next week but have heard they are not necessarily reliable.

any ideas?

My bump was so small lot of people didn't realize I was pregnant (I'm not a small woman, to be fair!) and my ds was 10lb6 oz. So I don't think it indicates anything.

Huge bump first time, MWs just said its because I was short and slim during all pregnancy. Even a few hours before my DD was born by EMCS they thought she was big for my size around 7 1/2lbs, she was 9lb 1oz and could not get out. I had hardly any water.

i had huge bumps (as shared on here to much amazement)

ds1 was 7lbs 5oz
ds2 was 7lbs 6oz

both full term

my bump was huuuuuuuge, i was quite self-conscious about it
dd was 8lb (biggish but not massive)

I was huge the first time, had loads of water and a 10lb 12oz DD. This time am huge, and am guessing he will be a size too! Can you not ask for a growth scan if you're concerned?

abbymeg, growth scan is booked for this wednesday so i'm hoping it lends some perspective but have gotten it into my head [from here tbh] that they are not totally accurate.
