Any veggies? Wondering about omega oils.

Hubby bought me some Veg omega 3, 6 and 9 tablets from Morrisons. I'm also taking Pregnacare. Wondered if it was safe to take the omegas too? (Can't think why not, but I don't know!) I'm seeing a nurse on Tues so I can ask her.

Assume the veggie omegas are linseed oil? It's perfectly safe to take these in pregnancy (midwife recommended 1000mg a day)though doesn't metabolise quite so well as the fish oils. HTH

I'm probably being overly cautious, but I've been reluctant to take anything not specifically for pregnancy...I'd wait to check with the nurse.

I don;t know about those - I'm taking Pregnacare Plus which have Omega especially for pregnancy in.

I am veggie and took the vegetarian omega oils during pregancy (as well as pregnacare)

Cool - thanks so much, everyone. I think the Pregnare Plus wasn't veggie, and I'm annoyingly strict.

Spottedandstriped, did you check with anyone about taking it? I'm not that knowledgable. xx

ps these are linseed oil, with rape seed oil, evening primrose oil and Vit E preparation (?!)

The midwife said to me that it would be a good idea to take pregnacare plus - but as I am veggie I got the veggie version. So I suppose yes is the answer. Hope this helps
