I've been feeling various movement for weeks, but at work last night, I was engrossed in something and I got SUCH a sharp kick/dig I literally jumped out of chair and yelled!

does this mean am going to have a big baby? or a footballer.... Forgot what a wonderful feeling it is....

I felt big kicks with dd (my first) earlyish but she ended up only being 4 lbs 9 oz.... however, she is pretty energetic ! Am feeling movement now (16 weeks) but no big kicks yet. Can't wait though !!

dinny · 28/09/2008 17:15

was she early, WB?

mmmm, my other two were quite big, so am thinking this one will follow suit.....

I'm very jealous, I'm 15 weeks and poke and prod my belly all the time but nothing 2nd baby too. I don't think I felt DS until quite late and he was HUGE! 9lbs 12!

Wheelybug · 28/09/2008 20:02

NOt particularly early but had growth issues so she was forced out at 37 weeks.

was eating dinner this evening and had another prod which made me jump - am worryng now it is mahooosive, it was a prod above my elly button, to the right, should it be up that high at 17 weeks???

oh I am 15 plus 5 days and have had 2 hoofs this weekend!!

DD was a right little kicker and first felt her at 18 weeks but she was only 6lbs15oz at 42 weeks so was no bruiser!

dinny · 28/09/2008 20:43

just so unexpected - sure I didn't have such big kicks with the other two this early

glad your dd was a nice size, LM!!

I am sure this means it's a girl, dunno why

I've been having what feel like kicks up in what sounds like the same place but I don't think the baby would be that high up - I'm guessing they're muscle spasms or something.

dinny · 28/09/2008 21:38

that's what I thought - too high

mmm, maybe muscel spasms....maybe from a kick lower down?

I did wonder if it was a ripple effect.

GYo · 29/09/2008 02:39

How wonderful Dinny!
Im 16wks and not sure if I've felt anything yet.

Are first feelings likely to happen later with a first baby?

dinny · 29/09/2008 09:49

GYo, yes, much later with first baby usually

How do you know if it's the baby moving or if it's your intestines gurgling and popping or if it's a nerve twitching?

I've had all of these feeling and just put it down to all of the above. I was sure I'd feel something by now at 15 weeks. Especially as this is my 2nd baby.

mumfor1standmaybe2ndtime · 29/09/2008 14:25

I have also been getting big movements this time round with 2nd pg, felt this one from around 15 weeks.
Small movements to start with, then bigger 'kicks' from around 17 weeks. Didn't feel a thing with ds until around 20 weeks.

Fruity - maybe some of those feelings are the baby? I am sure things have felt different somehow this time round for me, or maybe we just forget what it feels like?!

mumfor1standmaybe2ndtime · 29/09/2008 14:26

Oh and Fruity - ds was 9lb 12 also - snap!

rrrayray · 29/09/2008 14:28

i've been being kicked since about 18 weeks...and sort of flutters from about 16 and i'm a first timer!!!!! Now 23 and feel like shes trying to get out!! ha!

Very small bump, so don't think overly huge baby!?!?!

istinkhavingaboyoragirl · 29/09/2008 17:56

i am getting thumped from inside the kicks and all over movements are so strong keep making me jump could this mean i am having a boy?
