What complications can you get from being Rhesus negative ?

Hi, I'm Rhesus negative and have already had one child. When my first was born she was jaundiced and had terrible feeding problems which resulted in her getting a feeding tube. I had some bleeding throughout my last pregnancy. That was 9 years ago and i am now on my second so i am just wondering what complications i could get with this one s i heard that the second is more affected than the first due to antibodies being in my blood? Can anyone share their experiences with me please. Thank you very much.

I had no problems with either of them, as long as you have the anti-d when offered.

Thank marne. I got my first anti-d injection with my first pregnancy pretty early on(possibly due to the bleed?). Not sure when you get it now as i heard it's around 27 weeks now?

I will be having mine at exactly 28 weeks. That seems standard - I haven't been bleeding.

I got sent leaflets that explained about the greater risk if you are Rhesus neg with a 2nd baby. I'm only having my first so can't speak from experience. Could you ask your midwife/hospital for more info?

Thanks Eightieschick. I will contact the midwife and ask her about the lealets. x

Mummy2000 I'm pregnant with my 6th dc, also Rh-, and have had no problems or complications. When I had my dds ani-D was not given during pregnancy. They were all Rh+ so I had anti-D after their births. Being Rh- nowadays doesn't necessarily have to lead to complications with second and subsequent pregancies. Hope my experience puts your mind at rest a bit

Thanks. Makes me feel a lot better. Last time i was pregnant was 9 years ago so i guess things were a lot different back then in regards to rh-. Thank for all your comments. x
