Hello everyone?does anyone know if being Rhesus negative (and DH being positive) will have any effect on having a water birth ? which is what I would like?

Does anyone know if it makes a caesarian more or less likely? My midwife didn?t seem to know and though MN?ters might know more!

Thanks!

As HeathersMummy has pointed out, if your baby IS Rh +ve (and sounds like you are not sure at the mo?) without the anti-D to do any "mopping up" it's more possible for you to develop antibodies that may put any further Rh +ve baby at risk. It's just a question of weighing up your options and the risk versus benefit (but as HeathersMummy says, nice to actually HAVE an option to weigh up!!!)

If it was me, and I knew my baby was Rh +ve I'd definitely have the anti-D, but clearly we all have to make our own personal choices where anything like this is concerned

All the best anyway!
