Wedding outfit - winter wedding at 38 weeks

I?m off to a wedding at 38 weeks, in November. Anyone have any suggestions of where to find a nice frock/outfit? Ideally something not too pricey as unlikely to be attending another wedding that late in the day! Have some wide-leg linen trousers with a gold thread that could work, with the right top to make it look wintry but not Christmassy!! Anyone seen anything suitable?

nightmare!
that was me a few years ago.....
i bought an outfit from Evans (the shop for over size 16's ) i usually wore a 14, but i found the bigger size clothes had more fabric, longer length and flattering styles...also lovely elasticated waist trousers....

www.evans.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=20554&s toreId=12553&categoryId=125411&parentcategoryrn=125403&productId=783679&langId=-1

i wore the same long black tunic when my baby was 3 weeks old all over christmas..it hid my big belly beautifully, and was still nice and dressy.....

i got a nice simple style but wore lovely bright chunky jewellery to bring to focus up towards my face, away from my huge bump...

hth. good luck!

I do really want to go, it's just rather bad timing! The ceremony isn't til 4pm then we'll scoot off after dinner/speeches etc. It's an hour from home so not too far, DP will just have to stay sober.

Thanks for the links, will have a look later. Did walk past Evans the other day and thought about going in - will investigate. Like the idea of a tunic with the trousers i already have...thanks!

I am going to my bil's wedding at 40 weeks in March and I am terrified! What to wear.....will I go into labour etc?!

It doesn't help that my DH is best man and my DD is bridesmaid! I know that I will be huge so probably a tent is my only option.

jem1969 · 24/09/2008 17:11

Don't buy anything yet! Or get something you can return/exchange.

I was going to a wedding at 37 weeks- DD had other ideas and was a week old by that point! (Couldn't have faced it anyway looking back).

like this too

Unfortunately I will have to go whether DC has arrived or not! Unless I am literally giving birth as the ceremony takes place I have no way of getting out of it, lol!
