Just had OSCAR scan results through, last time round we lost our baby to a very serious heart defect which was first indicated by a very high nuchal translucency measurement (4.8mm)

Was petrified about this time round, nearly sick on way in to hospital, but just had results:

Nuchal fold 1.9mm
Risk of Down's 1:6500
Risk of Edward's/Patau's 1:12,500

Hooray!

I'm grinning all over! The consultant said my blood tests couldn't have been better. I feel very proud, like I passed an exam or something...

We still have to have a specialist heart scan at 18 weeks to check on the heart, but he said it's looking really good, and he could see four chambers of the heart already, so fingers crossed.

Just seen this - was away for work all day yesterday and had mum arriving so couldn't get to computer after 9pm Tueasday. I was thinking of you and am so thrilled to hear your good news

LittleMyDancingForJoy · 25/09/2008 09:40

Terrible how rl goes and interferes with MNetting, isn't it?

Thank you so much for all your good thoughts, clearly they worked! Am feeling very happy - off to new employers today to discuss hours, so once that's signed and sealed we shall be all set.

Hooray!
