Anyone done any STUPID things while pregnant....

I crashed our new car yesterday into a concrete pillar in the car park - got a massive dent in the back. DH keeps asking how I managed it and I honestly have no idea (I seem to have blanked it out in my head, except for the massive crunch when I actually hit the pillar) but am sure being 30 weeks pregant has something to do with it... Apparently my mum hit the window of a car showroom when pregnant with my brother and brought the whole thing down! It has really shaken me up and upset me though. Would appreciate any stories to cheer me up from anyone else whose pregnant brain has made them do daft things...

I put eye make up on one eye, the full works and forgot to do the other one, meant to return to it. NOBODY said an effing thing all day, wasn't til I got home and my dh said "...mm you look different..."

I asked a colleague why his pea soup was brown. He said "uh... because it's a capuccino?"

Our fridge used to be next to the airing cupboard in our old flat (not enough room in the kitchen)

there were lots of pillowcase in the fridge incidents, and the milk kept getting nice and warm in the airing cupboard.

These are hilarious, just can't stop laughing, DH thinks I've lost it.

Managed to sprain my ankle in my sleep and went to work with my blouse inside out - had even managed all the buttons somehow.

I forgot I had a car.

Was going for a midwife appointment pretty late on and as the doctors was up a huge hill decided to get a taxi. I spent ages hunting for change for the fare making me late. Then had to run to the taxi rank, whilst sitting in the taxi remembered I had bought a car a couple of weeks before and it was parked in the garage along the road.

Got up at 4am to drive 2 hours to airport to pick up my brother arriving from Australia with a landing time of 7am (or so I thought from the email print out) When I got the airport no sign at all of the flight. Went to a desk to ask what had happened and the woman pointed out on the email that 7hrs was the flight DURATION time not the landing time! My brohter was actually landing five hours later at midday.............

I've lost my phone. I remember dropping it somewhere and think I'd better pick it up right away or I'd never remember where it was. Guess what, I can't remember where it was...

Went to change batteries in remote control for tv - ended up binning the remote control (complete with new batteries) and spending 10 minutes trying to turn on the tv pressing the old dead batteries! Then had the joy of digging through the kitchen bin trying to find the remote control. Ho hum.

I don't do stupid so much as fecking crazy.

When I was pg the last time I was carrying DP's dinner to the table and he said something, not even remotely piss-taking, but it resulted in me saying 'I'll just throw it away then shall I?' He replied 'If you want' (trying not to react) and I just dropped it.
On purpose.
Just turned over my hands and dropped it on the floor.
All because of some perceived slight that didn't even happen.
I even picked the fish off the floor and threw it at his head.

When pg with DS1 I cried over a roast chicken taking too long to cook

since i posted yesterday i have had 2 more driving incidents!

Last night i went to the shop and, apart from driving most of the way home with no lights on (oops) i got home, pulled up PERFECTLY outside the house and then decided to "straighten up" and spent 5 mins going backwards and forwards outside my house with my OH looking at me out of the window like i was a muppet!

and then today i popped in to town, drove in to an EMPTY car park and decided to go for a nice space i could drive straight in to and straight out of - and i decided to park at a weird angle! (even though i approached it straight on!)

Maybe when we are pregnant they should revoke our licences!

When I was about 30 weeks pregnant I drove to Peterborough to buy a cot bed. I got lost (nothing new there) but was practically in tears by the time I arrived.

When I stepped into the shop I found I was completely incapable of making any sort of decision so I took pictures of every single bed in the shop and sent them to DH who was at work and very sweetly told me to ask someone there to help me!

Finally selected the bed and went to get the car to pick it up. Realised that I had no car keys but then found that I'd left them in the ignition of the unlocked car...

Erm, locked DD then 2.3 yrs in the car with the keys inside (thankfully NOT in ignition). Parked at a park and left keys in door of car.
Opened door of house and left keys dangling in yale lock outside.

Hmmm, yes, mostly keybased issues but I also had a habit of putting things like the washing liquid in the fridge.

Hello ladies...I have read this entire thread and it has kept me going through the long days at work!! I am only 16+4 but have already diplayed a number of thiese stupid actions!!

When DP was away with work for 2 weeks I left my keys in the front door on 4 occasions, complete with car keys and car on drive!!! Fortunately my neighbour was eagle eyed and posted them through my letter box for me!!

I also sat on the front door step to get some fresh air and left my mobile on the step a couple of times!

I have, only recently, lost the ability to parallel park. I dont know how as I HAVE to parrallel park on my street, I now have to park round the corner as the stress of failing drives me to tears!!

I got lost trying to find the "childrens centre" where my 16 week appointment was (we have recently moved area) and sat at the side of the road crying hysterically down the phone to DP!

And finally I have developed "dropsy"!! I just cant keep hold of anything! I am banned fro m carrying anything remotely heavy, anything valuable or anything glass!

When I was about 10 weeks pregnant I went through a stage of not noticing red traffic lights. Luckily I managed to stop just in time.

Leaving my keys in the front door was also a big one for me!

Having read missytabitha's airport mishap reminds me... We were in New York in April (our flights had been paid for because I gone there on business and taken DP). On the morning of the evening we were due to get our flight back to Heathrow I checked the tickets, only to realise our flight had gone the previous evening. We had to fork out for a flight back and at the airport I was in total tears because we nearly missed that too. Normally I am ultra organised (so much so my organised DP doesn't double check me) so now I know why we missed the flight. I was three weeks pregnant, does that count?

I've actually been crying laughing at these stories.. I feel so much better..

Durng my first pregnancy I bumped the car into our garden wall everytime I pulled up the bumper was wrecked.. DS was 2 weeks old when I got the shopping through the checkout then promptly forgot it.. got outside the shop left my son with the big issue seller and ran back for my shopping.. I stopped halfway thinking errr should I have done that.. I still got my shopping..I got home and put our electric kettle onto the gas hob for a cup of tea.. that really stank..

This time I have cried because they didn't have any ribs left at our local pub.. Last saturday I dashed about all morning as was taking DS to a bday party couldn't find selotape so ended up using electricians tape, couldn't find the card so gave up on the card.. Got there to find the place deserted and I was a month early!!

Ahh the joys of pregnancy.

I managed to crash my partner's car last week... hitting a lovely bollard after concentrating too hard on the chap behind me, and boom, straight into a pillar..

I'm sure my lack of concentration being 28 wks hasn't helped at all!

And don't worry - as long as you are ok, it's only a car!

We went for a long (maybe 5 mile) walk around rugged coastline in Cornwall when I was about 7.5 months pregnant.
I like clambering on rocks and wanted to look into a cave, so clambered up. DH told me to watch out but I airily said I was fine, then fell and twisted my ankle and just managed to avoid falling in icy cold quite deep rock pool.

Then had a worrying 30 mins of thinking I would need a helicopter to get me home. But did manage to limp the remaining mile and a half back to the car. Felt rather ashamed for being so reckless. IN fact that was a week of me slipping, sliding and falling over. Think I hadn't realised how much my centre of gravity had changed.

DD loves rock clambering too though, so maybe it's in the genes.

I cooked a lovely dinner for me and Dh. I served in onto the plate and was just about to give it to him and I put it in the bin. And then I threw away my plateful too.

Has anybody found that pregnancy brain continued after the birth?

I did some of my dumbest things after the birth.
