How soon can you feel baby moving ?

with DS1 it was around 18 weeks but i'm sure i have heard that you can feel your second baby much sooner...

so how early did you feel your babies wriggling around ? especially second, third (etc) babies...

I thought around 15 wks I felt movements that were like a pulse in my tummy and I guess that was down to the baby and I just presumed it was what i'd heard were 'butterflies', but week 18 I felt a very obvious kick and was left with no doubt at all. x

11 weeks! (second time - everyone told me I was making it up, but I know I wasn't)

It's really hard to tell the difference between baby movement, tummy movements or a trapped nerve. I was convinced I felt baby move the other day (am 14 weeks) but it could also have been a nerve. It was a sort of faint knocking feeling which knocked twice. I think it might have been too far up to be the baby - just wishful thinking. It was to the left of my belly button about 3 inches away. I think at 14 weeks the baby is still much further down. Who knows, anyway I haven't felt it since and I've been prodding and poking away
I don't think I felt DS until relatively late.

1st - about 17 weeks
2nd - it was a little later, around 18 weeks, I think, even though I knew what I was looking for

4 months.

At 12 weeks, baby is about 8 cms. Sorry, but I doubt if anyone can feel the 'kicks' at this stage.

I couldn't agree more CoteDAzur that's why I'm sure it was a trapped nerve or something

1st at 17 weeks
2nd at 12 weeks definately

DD1 about 18 weeks
DC2 think 14 or 15 weeks I felt flutters and then proper kicks a week or so later

DD1 not til about 21/22 weeks, it was very strange to see her kicking and rolling at my 20 week scan but not be able to feel it at all!

DD2 was pinging at 14 weeks, I thought I was imagining it but it was unmistakable, like being flicked from inside, hard! She went onto thrash like a frenzied octopus for the 26 weeks and was even as she was born!

oh well. I'm still sure that's what I felt. I mean, you feel slight twinges in your ovary when an egg is expelled, and that isn't very big either!

You can also get referred pain/sensations so if it felt like the side of your belly button, it could have been from lower down iyswim. I think...

Like getting shoulder pain from an ectopic maybe?

Really early for me: about 13 weeks. Tiny flutter in abdomen. Like butterfly wings. Most amazing!

It was funny at first, but painful in the last few weeks! She really thrashed, not just turning and rolling, but kicking and elbowing, hard almost non-stop. The girls at work used to stare at my belly as it writhed and jumped about, even through my nasty NHS uniform, (a bit like this) and at times I would "oof" out loud at the ferocity of it!

Oddly enough, I still miss it!!

Was told by midwife that I would feel the baby move 'sooner' because i'm petite. Started feeling baby move at 18 weeks but had 'bubble' feeling week before. Midwife also said the baby is simply too small to feel any thing that early - 11 and 14 weeks mentioned here. As Cote said, is probably wishful thinking!

just before 12 weeks with my 3rd!!
