I feel guilty for complaining, but my ridiculously large bosom is making me really miserable...

I'm 6 months pg with DC2, I'm currently wearing a manky old NCT greying nursing bra in a 34J as all my lovely underwires no longer fit. Last time round I managed with underwires prety much up to the end.

My back is sore, my shoulders ache, I'm miserable at the thought of another year of crappy unsupportive maternity/nursing bras. I'm also a bit at what size I'm going to end up when my milk comes in...

Got some soft-cup bras from Bravissimo delivered today but think I was hopelessly optimistic over sizes and they are all too small. Or are all soft-cups just shite?

Any advice/comiserations gratefully received [self-pity]

sympathies!!

I am normally small of breast but with this ( my 6th baby) i have been HUGE

I am now 9 weeks post natal and b/f ing and LOATHING the whole huge breasted thing

my back bloody aches between the shoulder blades - I keep thinking i have slept oddly but after reading this i am begining to wonder,,,,

i have broken two lovely feeding bras that did up with magnets...and am now in some hideous uni- breasted marks and spencers number that makes me look as sexy as a slug

Before DS1 I was a 34e. Went up to 34g during pg and then 34hh when bf. However after I ended up as a 32gg.

Now pg again I am 32h so only gone up one cup size so far but already find that most styles that are comfy offer NO support (even underwired) and the ones that offer support dig in and hurt soooo much that the second I am home I have to take it off!

I bf using underwired bras, just scooped boob out and then pushed it back in after!

Effie, what is that bra like for support? Looks a bit flimsey so I have been a bit put off.

Elle McPhearson used to do lovely nursing bras - well as lovely as they can be.

Don't know what size they went up to but I went up to an M cup at first, so must have been at least FF later when I found the above bra.

baby: I have an emily b in a different style (cotton one, bought about 2 years ago) and it's very supportive.

Hmm, that's it. I'm heading to Bravissimo right now. I'm relocating in a couple of days where a Bravissimo outlet will be thousands of miles away. Will get myself bras to last me til I deliver in Dec, and hopefully something that will see me through BF in 2009. I realize that my existing lacy bras make me itch. Will resort to the Kalyani cotton ones.

Rather than feel glowing marvelously in this PG, I feel very matronly with these overgrown sweaty itchy boos resting on my belly.

Not speaking from personal experience of having a large bosom, but my mum has and she found sports bra's to be the answer. She says they were comfy and supportive.

I did wear sports bra's whilst I was pg with Dd and found them very comfy. But I only ever needed a D cup in them, so can't offer you more than that.

aeonchix I hope you had some luck in Bravissiomo. I went on Friday to find they had discontinued the Royce bra in the larger cup sizes. I'm a J before pregnancy so I really need the L. The fitter was very apologetic and said she had complained up to head office, but I was rather peed off after struggling into the shop.

aeonchix · 21/09/2008 14:51

Hedgepig, have you tried the NCT comfort bra? Would you know if their sizing is similar to Royce?

hedgepig · 21/09/2008 15:05

no I haven't I tried NCT bras with my last child but didn't find them very supportive (this was 5 yrs ago so I can't remember the model), I think the fitter had the back size all wrong for me. I did find the Royce bras on line so I have ordered the 36L and will see what it is like when it arrives, I really hate getting bras online i much prefer to try them on.
