icandy pushchir/M& P Pliko pramette

I am looking for a pram/pushchair which is very light and have so far been impressed with the icandy cherry. However, I have heard that there has been problems with the front wheels and seat unit on past models. Good or bad reports on this system would be very helpful.

Also loked at the M&P Pliko pramette but not very happy with the harness.

Any other suggestions for a lightweight pram/pushchair.

As far as the Icandy Apple - I think that any new buggy purchased since Jan/Feb should have the new wheels. I got a whole new chassis and it works great now (saying that the wheels were only iffy now and again)
I would think it would be the same for the cherry if there was a similar problems

I used to have a Pliko. It was a bit rubbish to be honest. I liked the look of it which is why I got one even though I had been warned off it. M&P seem to be flimsy and plasticky in general - I've had several things from them including 2 buggies. They aren't the best buy so shop around. Would NOT buy another thing from them.

I can recommend the Bugaboo Cameleon (love love love it) and also most of the maclarens (XT i think has a good reputation).
My friend has a 6 month old icandy cherry and its front wheels are a nightmare. its a total pain to push.

Just to go back to Bugaboo - it is so light to push you can do it with one finger and steer easily with one hand. It's a dream. Seat can go forward or rear facing too. Comes with carrycot and can use with car seats. Can buy different colour fabrics to update it for future children.
Expensive but dreamy!

Frazzle- What is chasis like for putting up and down? A few yrs back when quite new i had real problems in car parks with this, and have seen others since.

I think the chassis is fine - I have had no probs at all with mine since I got the hang of it. It is odd to start with but doesn't take long to learn and now I do it really easily all the time. DH struggles with it, but then he only puts it up once every couple of months!!!!
Mine is an early 2008 model and I believe they've brought out a new chassis since I got mine with simpler folding action and an easier catch to extend and retract the handle height. Why not go to John Lewis or somewhere where they are trained well and get them to let you have a play with it and they'll show the knack. My John Lewis in Edinburgh was fantasitc for this. Much easier than trying to learn how to do it from the instructions!!

Loving my icandy apple.

My wee boy grew out of the carrycot so quickly that I would have hated to have him facing away from me. He is very cosy in the seat itself and we can still see each other and 'chat'

frazzled why did you hate the pliko?

I just ordered an iCandy cherry. We have a baby shop in our village with an excellent reputation. They advised there were problem with the 2007 model (seat went back unexpectedly, locking wheels) but have had no problems at all with the new model.
I didn't want to go with a M&P one because people that have had problems always advise how awful their client services is...
