Listeria - would I know?

If I ate something that gave me listeria would I know?

Can it affect a baby without you feeling unwell?

it's a stomach bug isn't it? like Salmonella?

It's ok, I've just looked it up a lot on Google - was just a bit worried as have had a bit of a tummy bug and wondered how severe listeria is.
