I've had some very mild cramping sensations with my 2nd child while having BHs. They seem much stronger second time round and other mums have said the same. I'm due exactly a month after you.

If they go off when you change position they may just be BHs and can be eased by drinking lots of fluids and keeping hydrated.
As you are near your due date, keep an eye on the clock and if they get more frequent, stronger or longer, maybe they are the real thing...

Are your bags packed, the last thing you need is to rush around packing bags at the last min if this it - good luck

Hi biglips - I'm also on the sept thread and in a similar situation as I thought I was just having BH's last time until I was told I was 6cm with bulging membranes - it did get more painful quite quickly after that but I'm now worried I won't go in to hospital early enough as a second labour is likely to be faster. The midwife who did my sweep earlier said she thought I had started to dilate slightly so I am being paranoid and timing the BHs this afternoon - a bit erratic but between 5 and 15 mins apart at the mo - am going to lie down to see if they get less frequent.

yeah bags are packed!!! they were just BH after all that I just want it all to be over now the last couple of weeks feel longer than the whole pregnancy!! I went for a 3 mile walk hoping that if it was the real thing i could help move it along! (i must have looked like a duck on speed) i also bought a fresh pineapple (mw suggested it) ate the lot it done nothing!!! sorry it gave me a numb tongue for about 3 hrs! i hope my little flunp decides to make an entrance soon

Oh bad luck. You must be close fo them to have lasted so long. I think you have to eat lot of pineapple for it to have an effect.

Last time, a long walk on crutches, 2.5 whole pineapples in one sitting (hate the stuff now), lots of RLT and some help from hubby got baby moving for me but the contractions died out after a day as I was due in hospital for an induction and got seriously stressed out about it.

Treat yourself to a reflexology or accupuncture/pressure session to see if they can stimulate the points that induce labour and get you going. Failing that look up accupressure and labour on google, it is well documents. There is a point on the inside of your ankle, 4 of your fingerwidths from your ankle bone and a point between your finger and thumb that should work. Both can be worked on at home.

Check these out. Avoid the cohash and caster oil though, nasty stuff.
