think I may have lost (part of?) mucus plug at 24wks

When I went to the loo earlier and wiped, large mucousy blob but no blood or discolouration at all.

I'm not really sure whether this is something to worry about or not...any advice?

DS was early but only just (36wks).

How large? Was it thick and stretchy?

I think I'd give my mw a call if I were you. How far are you from monitoring?

About the size of a £2 coin, I think.

I lost part of mine and had some contractions at 29 weeks. Baby stayed put and I'm now at 34 weeks.

Give your MW a ring. Mine was only worried about the blood in the show and the contractions.

I'm okay, thanks. Just a bit shaky, as MW told me to come over (next island) right away for examination and to bring an overnight bag which made me panic a bit. Thankfully didn't get sent to mainland.

Location means I couldn't get a scan of cervix so they couldn't completely rule out early action but they couldn't reach the cervix which I guess is a good sign.

I'm on high alert which means any indication of uterine action and its a chopper for me .

I should add, for anyone reading the thread, I also had shooting pains in the vagina/cervix which is why they were more concerned...

Had it only been the mucus they would have been less concerned.

Don't worry about putting me off. I have my eyes wide open as far as all that goes. Pretty scary!
