I'm 39+4 and cannot have another night like last night. I'm in so much pain every time I lie flat and I'm miserable. Can't see doc or MW til wed and I'm thinking to just go and buy some - it should be ok yes?
Thanks

Poor you, it is so crap. Unfortunately KAT you can never say anything will be 100% OK. But I have taken Zantac for this pg from 12 weeks and for my last pregnancy (I normally take acid reducing meds but changed to Zantac cos it has been around longer and so has more evidence for safety in pregnancy). By 39 weeks all the babies development has finished and it is now just growing. As I say I have taken it threw out pregnancy but you have to make your own assessment.

Thanks - I would ask doc first but I am just not sleeping and I can't go on any longer! I will take one tonight and keep it to a minimum. Thanks for the advice!

I was given ranitidine (zantac) whilst in specialist high-risk pg unit in hospital. I would think that if anyone knew what drugs were safe in pg, it would hopefully be there! I would take it happily. Hope you feel better now.

Same as Liegeandlief - I was dx with a 'burnt' oesophagus (sp?) after chronic MS and given zantac by hospital from week 29 to birth (week 40, born on EDD).

You should be fine - the pharmacist should be able to confirm for you if you are in any doubt, if you want to check perhaps you could ring your local labour ward for out of hours confirmation?
