Hurrah! MamaG has very cleverly got her placenta to move to NO c-section (touch wood) and NO two week stay in hospital beforehand! OH, the cleverness of me!

I am delighted. Sure nobody on here gives a shit but I'm sharing anyway

Had scan today and its well out of the way - not sure quite why I'm so delighted at the prospect of pushing a third child out of my 'jo, but never mind.

Consultant said baby is bigger than average but all fine

Good news.

belgo · 04/09/2008 17:48

that's good news.

TheProvincialLady · 04/09/2008 17:49

That is good news. Congratulations on your placenta moving abilities (did you employ the power of the mind or complicated physical contortions?)

MamaG · 04/09/2008 17:49

maybe I'll appear on "the perfect vagina 2" having my wizard's sleeve trimmed afterwards

Well done that placenta, how clever of you to get it to move

Remember sizing scans are often 15% out - so don't give it a thought!

MamaG · 04/09/2008 17:53

Theprovlady - it was thanks to my will of iron, I think (and standing on my head, as cali said)!

ILTMIMI are you saying that the baby could be 15% bigger than estimated?

ilovemydog · 04/09/2008 18:11

mine moved at 35 weeks. huge relief!

go girl....

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 04/09/2008 18:25

Oh blimey . I should have said an overestimate of up to 15%.

nobodysfool · 04/09/2008 18:28

I'm impressed but what will really impress me if you can move mine as well!
Why would you need a 2 week stay in hosp??Is that the norm?

expatinscotland · 04/09/2008 18:34

HURRAY!

MamaG · 04/09/2008 20:36

at 15% bigger

nobodysfool - I would need the two week stay only because I live in the sticks and a good hour's drive from the nearest hospital - if you have a low lying placenta and go into labour, you need to have hte CS PDQ and apparently an hour away is too much, hence the 2 week stay.

People who live in "normal" areas are ok at home, I think!

Thanks MamaG-I thought they were keeping me in the dark.
Glad everything seems to be going well, good luck x

MamaG · 04/09/2008 20:41

and you - how many weeks are you?

OP posts:
mehgalegs · 04/09/2008 20:42

Hurrah! Good news.

How long now?

lulumama · 04/09/2008 20:49

so , your placenta is no longer in lancaster. that is great news !

i was told DD would be big and DS, come to thik about it, and both were under 8 lbs...

your 'jo will stretch, my dear ... just think streeeeeetchy thoughts

nobodysfool · 04/09/2008 20:51

mamag-I'm only 20 weeks but they have told me there is little hope of it moving as it's total previa-c section hee i come (again).

MamaG · 05/09/2008 14:21

8 weeks go to meghalegs - but more likely to be 10 weeks - my babies love being in my womb and never want to come out on time

Lulu - LOL at lancaster, that was so funny wasn't it . I can confirm that its 100% lodged in my womb!

Nobodysfool - Good luck, the thing that I was cross and anxious about was being in hospital for 2 weeks beforehand (DS has just started school and I also have a DD aged 9, the thought of being without them for 2 weeks apart from the odd visit was really getting to me). That bothered me a lot more than the thought of a CS.
