Prams you can go jogging with?

Hi everyone. Sorry if this is a really silly question but I'm really missing my running now I am 32 weeks and just too enormous!

I was wondering for after the baby is born, if there are any prams you could go running with? And whether this is a good idea anyway for the baby? I have seen some people doing this but not sure if it is a good thing or not. It would only be round Wandsworth Common so not exactly a rough terrain but all the same I want to do the right thing!! Obviously I could go to a gym with a creche and run on a treadmill but there's something about a lovley run round the common that helps the old state of mind!

thanks in advance for any advice or opinions!

Hi. We bought a babyjogger via the internet for DD which DH ran with. He was a serious runner and I did shifts so we gave in at the 9mth mark and bought one - best money we spent. We used it loads out walking and DH used to do runs of up to two hours.
I liked it cos you could take the wheels off so it folded down quite small but the bigger wheels are better for running with. The buggy was as light as anything.

These pushchairs are very popular in America. Jenny and Nigel - our running-obsessed friends use the blue Schwinn Jogging Stroller on this site.

We have a bob dh uses all the time. Def not a main stroller though.

The six month rule applies in us anda Canada too. It's not to do with sitting up but to do with jolting and shaking. Apparently it is not safe until 6 months. I've never seen anyone at home use a jogger before 6 months.

If you are going off road running/cross country as opposed to flat footpaths then it's rec. for baby to be 12m or older and for baby to wear a bike helmet in case of the pushchair tipping over.

For flat footpaths then 6m is fine but you need a 16" wheeled pushchair, for off road 20" is better. Do not go running with a Maclaren or a Zapp as I have seen people doing Shock

This and this are good articles on running and choosing a running/jogging stroller.

Schwinn, BOB, Baby Jogger (not any of the models with City in their name) all make running buggies so worth looking for.
