Birthing ball - where to buy?

I've seen in messages that quite a few people have birthing balls at home - where would you recommend buying one from?

Thanks!

TkMaxx. If you can find one called Manuka, get it. I love it.

Or argos. Don't spend loads as the exercise balls in TkMaxx & argos are exactly the same and don't cost the earth

Big tesco stores have an exercise section and often sell exercise balls for just 2.99. Exactly the same as the expensive 'birthing' balls that some websites and stores promote

Just a little note to add, just make sure you get an anti burst one. My friend had hers burst as she was bouncing at 38 wks. As you can imagine it was painful !

and make sure that it is minimum 65cm... less than that and you wont be able to use it properly...

Argos, get the Reebok one for about 8 or 9 quid, as it is big enough (65cm), anti burst and comes with a little dubbry to attach it to a bike pump to blow it up (which will take hours!, dont leave it to the last minute).

Thanks - will prob go with that one then, there's an Argos close to where we live

Argos or tesco - doesn't have to be a birthing ball as such just one of those sports balls will do.

TantiK · 05/09/2008 14:39

These are worth every penny - it was the only thing I was comfortable to sit on with my first pg. Mine was Argos/Reebok - must dig it out as I am pg again....

I got a regular exercise ball, but I'm not very tall, so it is perfect size for me. If you're tall you will need a bigger one. I got one for £8 at a sports shop, but saw the SAME ONE at a big tesco for just £2.99.

if you're over 5'9" they recommend getting a 75cm one.
