Pregnancy pillows or bolsters

Has anyone bought a pillow or bolster to help them get comfortable at night?

Have never bothered with previous pregnancies as just used a spare pillow between the knees and one under my bump. However, am finding it difficult to get comfortable this time and am losing a lot of sleep (not good with two little monsters boys to keep up with this time round).

I have noticed there seem to be several available these days and was wondering if they are worth the money.

Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

i have been using a chair cushion cover cant be removed have just bought tesco normal bed pillows to try instead i just put between lower legs

What sort is the ebay one herbietea is it a v -shape or boomerang sort?

Have seen some good reviews of this one:

dreamgenii

but it looks expensive.

This site has quite a few different styles, but don't know if they are worth buying.

materity pillows

I suffered from severe SPD in both my previous pregnancies and have just started to get symptoms again in this one (although can't complain as they started later and an are less severe than previously) and was hoping to find a way of getting comfortable before things get too bad.

I had two during my first pregnancy, a v pillow that I later used for BF and a bolster. Not long after starting to use them I started to suffer from SPD and it ended up chronic so that I spent the last 3 months on crutches.

This time round I'm lucky enough to have a tempur mattress so have got to 31 weeks without 1. Started to use a pillow early last week when we stayed away and immediately got hip pain so I don't think I'm suited to them. For me, they aggrevate the SPD rather than help it.

bikerunski have looked at that one, great idea not having to take it with you when you turn over, but would probably need something between my knees as well, which is why I was looking at the dream genii (please excuse my spelling).

ajm we are planning to get a memory foam mattress in a couple of months, (although tempur itself is out of our price range). Good to hear they make a difference, was worried that we would spend all that money and find it didn't help. Strange that the pillows made it worse for you, although maybe you would have got the hip pain anyway with it not being a tempur mattress when you were away.

Have to agree that the Tempur is expensive. We only managed to get it as I had a tax rebate and we got some money back from our health insurance (pruhealth money back plan - ace). Any foam mattress is brilliant.

I've been looking out for a pregnancy pillow made of the same soft squidgy stuff that they make those little brightly coloured pillows from. The ones that are full of lots of microbeads. I bet they'd be comfy

I had a dreamgenni when I was about 18 weeks and stopped using it as I found it awkward to change sides. In the end I went to Matalan and bought a few cheap pillows and used those instead! Much better as you could put them where you want.

This one theraline is micro beads, has been fab.

Used it too sleep whilst pg, took it to hospital, used it for feeding, now use it for assisted sitting/nest for 6 month old, my ds 4 lies on it to watch telly and I snuggle with it on the sofa at night.

It is fantastic and will be using it for years.

Go on, treat yourself .

Seriously tempted. Might has to beg OH as this has been a very expensive month so far and we've got a new car/car loan starting on 01/09

we had exactly the same one as wherethewildthingswere.

I have loved it for pregnancy and breastfeeding and supporting tiny baby.

I now use it as a comfortable pillow to have for support when reading in bed.

I have a Dream Genii but tbh at this point (37+2) I'm heartily fed up with it and don't really use it - most of the time I end up cushioning my head on it or hugging it, rather than having it under my bump or between my knees! Wish I'd bought one of the long bolster style ones really, or not bothered at all.
