Am 35+5 today and am sporting a very out front bump - this will probably be boy number 3! The baby feels like its lying transverse, across the bump. I saw my midwife today who did remark on the odd shape of my bump (before I said a word) as there are two discernible round lumps either side but she said she could feel the head in my pelvis. She has suggested a scan at 38 weeks, which is fine but feels rather late, should the baby be in transverse. Should I worry? Is this normal for 3rd?

Maybe the baby is lying against your back and what you can feel are knees. I believe that first time babies tend to drop during pregnancy but most later babies stay fairly mobile until labour begins

Where do you feel the kicks and little scratch hand movements.

There are some tips on working out babies position on www.spinningbabies.com that might help to set your mind at rest.

They also have tips on OFP if you do need to turn baby.

Good luck.

I am confused, you say that the mw today told you that the head is in your pelvis, so how is the baby also transverse? Could it be that the baby is forward facing and the tucked up knees are making the lumps?

ajm and lollipop ta for tips - I am very confused too hence the post. I suppose they could be knees. I have felt the kicks mainly on my upper right side, which I wuold expect, but lately I have had some on my upper left side as well and some just to the left. I will check out the website.
