Quick question/reassurance needed if you can please?!

I have a good doppler that every now and again use just cos it's nice to hear. Anyway was just listening and babys heartrate has pretty much always been constant of around 140-150 but have just been listening for 10mins and it kept shooting up to 189 at it's highest. It stayed between 170-189 for 2mins before going back down but it's still been higher than usual. Was around 155-160-70 for most that time.

Is this normal? What would you do if anything if you saw a lady in clinic with this??

Advice greatly welcomed

xx

The worrying doesn't stop believe me! You then worry about every sniffle, spot, ache, temperature. Oh the joys!!!

There is natural variation - DD2's heartbeat was erratic when the GP was listening in the other day. She wasn't worried though, she just listened in for a while longer to make sure that it went back to normal, and checked that I wasn't having a contraction when it was slower (I'm nearly 32 weeks).

could me movement; your bp especially if anxious, exercise, etc.

sometimes a mw would do a heart monitor for an hour or so; but normally with more reasons than a higher hb for 2 mins or so.
