Not sure whether to call someone (docs/NHS direct/AN suite) or just rest and hope it gets better. I've put a support band on and it's helped a bit, but every time the baby wriggles or I sneeze or cough (yes i would happen to have a bit if a sniffle as well) or try to get up or down or...well move really it's bloody agony

What, realistically, will/can they do if I call? I'm 28 weeks.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

If you have pain in your bump, then it is best to call a doctor or the AN suite to ask for advice. I'm not sure what they will do, but it's always good for these things to be checked out.

thanks belgo

I'll call the CMW office as they are open on a Saturday morning and see what they say.

baby seems fine though; lots of wriggling going on as usual, maybe a little more but I don't think he likes the support band

hope it's all alright

I got put through to the AN unit.

They said there isn't really much they can do, and told me to have a bath, rest and take some paracetomol.

If it's still bad on Monday to see a CMW and get a referral to the physios and if I feel that baby is moving less than normal, then of course get back to them.

I'm supposed to be going to a BBQ today, but it looks like I'm not going anywhere

I'm glad they don't think it's anything to worry about, but I agree you should rest, otherwise it will take longer to get better.

Shame about the BBQ though!

I will still send DH and the kids and just enjoy some peace and quiet for a change.......so every cloud and all that

does it feel like you've got a bruise and everytime you move someone is pressing it?

LackaDAISYcal · 16/08/2008 18:49

thanks diddle; sorry for ignoring you but I went out after all.

No, it's more like a burning sensation, and when I twist my torso it hurts all round the top of my bump. It does feel a bit bruised though if I press on it.....just at the bottom of my ribs.

I have dug out my full body stocking and have been lent a super strength support belt from a friend and taken some painkillers and things are a bit easier. I'm not looking forward to sleeping tonight as I usually lie on that side as my hip hurts when I lie on the other side.
