When did you feel the first flutter?

Hello I can't remember when i felt my first flutter with ds1. I'm pregnant for the second time and I'm nearly 11 wks - it's way too early isn't it?!

Did I just have wind today?

Thanks!

Wind - I think! I didn't feel anything until about 21/22 weeks with dd1.

Not sure with DS -- wasn't aware that I was definitely feeling him until 23 weeks but presumably I was earlier and just didn't recognise it.

With DD, definite flutters at 14 weeks (knew what it felt like second time round). I did think it was early, but gradually got stronger over next few weeks.

About 16 wks - was sitting behind my stall at a market and something went.. 'flick' in my innards. And I whooped with excitement and immediately rang my mum and my friend... and then about 4 hours later it happened again I really did like those little flickers and flutters.

Thanks for your responses, feel a bit silly and embarrassed now!

I know people who have their heads screwed on very firmly who are sure they've felt something at 12 weeks, so I wouldn't rule out the possibility that it's the baby (if I can feel it at 14 weeks with... ahem... extra padding, then I see no reason someone slimmer couldn't feel it earlier).

Don't feel silly!

ChasingSquirrels · 15/08/2008 22:53

ds1 - 18wks
ds2 - 11wks

ChasingSquirrels · 15/08/2008 22:55

my mw said to me when I said I thought I could feel the baby but it was too early that it definatly wasn't too early and it almost certainly was the baby (which I knew itt was really)

RedHead81 · 15/08/2008 22:58

16wks on DS1
12wks on DS2

if your dates are out though it could def be the baby - congrats btw!

MakemineaGandT · 15/08/2008 22:58

Don't feel silly - could well be the baby. I (Definately!) felt DS2 at 10 weeks (DS1 at 18 weeks).

RedHead81 · 15/08/2008 23:01

by 16wks on DS2 they were already proper kicks

pinktree · 15/08/2008 23:01

Wow! Some really early flutters then!

I have a scan on Monday so perhaps I'll find out if the dates are right then.

Thanks again for your posts!
