Worried about possible Listeria infection

I am 18 weeks pregnant and spent the last week on holiday in the French Alps. I have been a it naughty and did eat some cured meat - thinking that it was only a few times and I was unlikely to get Listeria.

But this monring I woke up feeling dreadful, complete lost of apetite, aches and pains all over and just had diorrhea (sorry TMI).

Is it possible that this is only a cold but I feel much worse because I am pregnant? As I a abroad, I can't easily go and and see a doctor so I am quite worried.

Anyone experienced anything similar?

Most likely it's just normal food poisoning or a virus, but you should see a doctor because if it is something serious, the faster you get treated, the better.

Please see a doctor.

I will do - even more so as I have just been sick (although feeling much better now!). I think you are probably right and it probably is only food poisoning but I will see a doctor. Just no point taking chances.

Thanks Belgo!

I got food poisoning when I was pregnant and it was no big deal. Kept in hospital overnight for observation and foetal monitoring, rehydrated, sent on my way in the morning.

That's good to hear. Thanks ninedragons!
