Worried about possible Listeria infection

I am 18 weeks pregnant and spent the last week on holiday in the French Alps. I have been a it naughty and did eat some cured meat - thinking that it was only a few times and I was unlikely to get Listeria.

But this monring I woke up feeling dreadful, complete lost of apetite, aches and pains all over and just had diorrhea (sorry TMI).

Is it possible that this is only a cold but I feel much worse because I am pregnant? As I a abroad, I can't easily go and and see a doctor so I am quite worried.

Anyone experienced anything similar?

Most likely it's just normal food poisoning or a virus, but you should see a doctor because if it is something serious, the faster you get treated, the better.

Please see a doctor.

I will do - even more so as I have just been sick (although feeling much better now!). I think you are probably right and it probably is only food poisoning but I will see a doctor. Just no point taking chances.

I got food poisoning when I was pregnant and it was no big deal. Kept in hospital overnight for observation and foetal monitoring, rehydrated, sent on my way in the morning.
