I'm 39 weeks today and getting period like cramps and icky mucus but she still doesnt seem like she wants to move!
Any natural ways to try and get her moving? I've tried birthing ball, pineapple and lots of walking, all to no avail

im 39 plus 3 and have tried raspberry leaf tea, sex hot curries and chillies which i nearly died from the hotness, maternity ball, walking lots and uphill, i think he must be comfy in there, but i think ill try pineapple next? fingers crossed

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and have triedmost of the above. Had a curry and all it did was cause me heartburn and have been walking every other day. Sex is the last thing on my mind but will be the last resort! :)

I guess in the meantime, you can enjoy your sleep and "me" time until the bundle of joy eventually arrives. We will need it ladies!

Good luck!! :)

jade I would hope everyone else on this thread has given birth now...it was started in 2008!

walk as far and as fast as you can manage, really pound the pavement, when you get home exhausted run a nice hot (hotter than "recommended") bath and have a nice soak. Then head to bed and dtd... This next bit is a little TMI but works so no doubt people will try it... After ejaculation perform your own cervical sweep : )... worked both times! : )

Teapig · 09/04/2013 13:03

I have no advice but marking my spot as I'll be watching this thread with interest. I'm 38+6 and baby isn't yet engaged.

I've been taking raspberry leaf capsules for the last couple of weeks to no avail. Looks like a curry and a bit of how's your father could be on the agenda!

jumpinghoops · 09/04/2013 18:33

Teapig, the raspberry leaf are not s

Sorry- not so good at making labour start but very effective at giving strong, effective contractions I think. I remember cursing myself for taking so many during my last labour!

JaquelineHyde · 09/04/2013 18:44

38+5 here and after getting over a very painful uti I think tonight may be the night that we give sex a go.

FYI Raspberry leaf tea/capsules do not help bring labour on, they help prepare the cervix to work more efficently once labour has started which can for some make the earlier stages of labour shorter.

I'm 39+3 weeks with 4th baby and tried everything to bring on labour but still very much pregnant, iv had hot curry, gutted my house cleaned floors on all fours had lots of pineapple, caster oil primrose oil capsules sex walked miles hot baths and still no baby iv had mucus snotty stuff last night with small period.type cramping this morning but nothing Magor Angry really don't no what else I can do other than wait I'm booked in for a sweap Friday but was hoping she would cone sooner as it's the start of half term so would be nice for my kids to meet baby an bond b4 they go back to school next Monday but looking dim atm any suggestions??

Onthepigsback · 27/10/2015 00:11

My best suggestion is to wait. I can 100% guarantee that the baby will come if you do that;) All the other malarkey is just stressful because none of it works.....until it works. But you'll have spent days wasting your time by then.

I like a late baby. They are stronger and more ready. In my small personal study too they have much better digestive systems so are more settled. Sometimes babies are better in than out!

I've tried raspberry leaf tea, pineapple, sex, walking, going to try a hot curry tonight! I'm 39 weeks and the things I've been doing has only got me to 2cm which is disappointing.... And now the bf doesn't want to have sex with me because my plug is started to come away he said its gross... But ordered my exercise ball and still using the tea bags and warm baths just Braxton hicks is all I'm having contraction wise.. Needs to hurry up 😞

hiimmumma · 08/03/2017 15:58

I went into labour 39+4
Had 2 sweeps that week
Drank a LOT of raspberry leaf tea
Walked 5 miles a day that week
Went to the most inconvenient place to go into labour everyday too
In the end it all started when I was at home eating a curry.

So not sure what / if any of that worked or if it would have happened when it did anyway but it all kept me busy that's for sure.
