well as u can see im new to this, only 21 but i am happy about it. Well i am trying to be happy but i have this fear of being excited incase something goes wrong, there is just so many gr8 people that i have knowen that misscary wich scares the living daylights out of me.
is this normal to feel like this???

sae03 - congrats to you and yep - alot of your fears are pretty usual. try and relax about it all- how many weeks are you?

Yes I still feel like this and I have seen the baby on a scan!

im aroud 7 to 11 weeks have a scan on fri will this make it more real?

I have just found out Im expecting dc2 and Im SOOO much more worried this time so yes it is pefectly normal, you will always find something to worry about!

its worry, worry, worry from here on in I'm afraid, and it doesnt stop once their born. i dont want to frighten you, but your not the only one who feels like this.

hope everything goes ok, seeing your LO for the first time makes it all worthwhile.

lol ok im startin to feel a bit better already, its just all a bit strange just now, its been like a blur from when i found out, and i didnt realise how fast news travelle. told a few close friends but now it seems ike everyone knows wich i didnt really want.

Completely normal. You will probably spend the whole pregnancy worrying about something and then the whole of the childs life worrying something will happen to them, it's just called being a parent.

Try to not let the feelings take you over as you will go mad! I am currently 24wks into my 3rd pregnancy and have spent most of it worrying about this little one as well as my other two DC's.

i went shopping as soon as i found out, couldnt help myself but bought loads of useless stuff that have never been used. if you want to be sensible, budget, perhaps use a plan like mothercare offer and ask other mothers about products that you are thinking about buying. if your like me go out and spend a fortune, indulge yourself.

I didn't buy anything until about 6 months, my mum started buying/knitting from the beginning though. I bought a few bits a month since 6 months (when I got paid!) and started collecting free stuff from friends/family. I have only a couple more bits to get now (8 months) and feel quite relazxed about it all, but then I'm not one to get hundreds of new baby gimmicks and I'm taking people's advice about what is unnecessary and think I can always get things after if needed!

Shopping for your baby isn't going to make any difference to what happens. Sometimes things go wrong and if they go wrong it isn't because you have done anything wrong it's just very unlucky. I'm sure everything will be fine but I think the reason some people say not to shop till x point in the pregnancy is because if something then went wrong they would have to deal with that loss and a pile of stuff they had bought for the baby. I have been very fortunate and this has never happened to me - but if it had then I suspect the fact that I had bought things for the baby wouldn't make me feel any sadder than the loss itself did. So what I'm saying is you go ahead and shop if you want to!

hi sae03, i can sympathise wit you 100%, sadly miscarriage does happen it has done to me, and i am pregnant again and at nearly 6 weeks am petrified. all i can say is if its going to happen it will and sadly we cant d anything to stop it, just take it day by day, and enjoy your pregnancy and dont worry - worrying will only make things worse believe me xx

Hi. can sympathise with you sae03. I was pg first time at 19 but spent so much time worrying what people thought of me didn't have time to worry about the baby! Am now 10w pg with no. 2 age 22 and this time it was planned so spending far more time worrying about what might happen. However best thing is to try and relax and enjoy the pg. That is what I most regret with my 1st. Too stressed to enjoy it.
