Is there an alternative to Canestan for treating thrush in pregnancy. My doctor said today there is not but I am sure I have read somewhere about it. Canestan has not cleared it up and left me feeling very uncomfortable when I inserted the pessary.

I'm not familiar with canestan but I think the trush you're talking about is what we refer to as a yeast infection. Right? If it is you might go the natural route and try a Probiotic pearl. This is along the lines of acidophilus though it is much more effective. Also, avoid sugar, dairy, gluten and yeast until it clears up. Some people have it recurring because it is a systemic problem. If it is what I think it is I feel for you! Sorry you're miserable.
