Oh bet your excited now the end is near and you'll have your bundle of joy to cuddle into!

I would love a boy but think i've got a girl, my sisters gone and brought a very cute little girlie outfit so i'm gonna buy an outfit i've seen in matalan for a boy.

What name have you picked out for her?

Well off to the DR's at 10:30am today as got really bad cramps and swollen feet accompanied by a headache!

So going to see what she thinks!

Gem1355 - You're not having an easy time of it are you! It's the sensible thing to do though. With ds my BP shot up at 37/38wks, I had proteinurea and headaches, accompanied with swollen ankles and fingers. They kept me in!! I was highly miffed.... I wanted them to induce me. I was in for 2 nights, then sent home, then taken back in 2 nights later. Thankfully I went into labour at 39wks. But even with all those symptoms I never developed pre-eclampsia. They are just really careful about BP coz it can change so quickly.

What I'm trying to say is, they will probably keep a close eye on you from now on, but it'll most likely never develop into anything particularly serious so don't worry. Just enjoy being treated like the most precious thing in whole wide world!

Gem1355 · 15/02/2005 09:36

Well i'm petrified of hospital's, so i hope they don't keep me in! thats the reason i'm going to our birthing centre down here.

I don't want to be induced just yet as a bit early at 33 weeks don't you think?
Baby seems fine wriggling around alot as usual!

OP posts:
Toothache · 15/02/2005 09:47

No no, I didn't mean they would induce you! I just mean that these symptoms may sound worrying and they will keep an eye on you closely, but I was just trying to reassure you that it doesn't necessarily mean you will develop pre-eclampsia! Please please please don't worry.

I only wanted induced coz I was nearly at term and I didn't see the point in being sent home from hospital again unless my baby was in the carseat rather than kicking my bladder.

Do you have a phobia of hospitals? I wanted to give birth in a birthing centre, but I don't think there are any in Scotland unless you go private. Where do you live? I always like the look of Hythe Birthing Centre on Discovery Health.

Gem1355 · 15/02/2005 17:07

Hi

Seen the DR today and have x2 protein in water along with blood and small trace of sugar she thinks but is sending away for tests anyway!
i weigh 68kgs, BP normal and baby's head is 2/5 engaged nearly 3/5. mild swelling of the ankles so been told to rest feet, and she thinks babys head against cervix which is causing the cramps!

I have a real fear of hospital's and always have, i think it's because when i was 4yrs old my grandad passed away and i remember him being rushed to QA hospital and it frightened me i think never really like them since. My birthing centre is The Grange at Petersfield.

Toothache · 18/02/2005 08:29

Gem1355 - That's great news about your BP. Did you get antibiotics for a Urinary infection?

If the babies head is down at your cervix then at least you won't have to worry about a breech birth, it sounds like the babies head is well down already..... perhaps your little one will make an appearance a couple of weeks early.

Gem1355 · 18/02/2005 13:13

Hi toothache

No i'm still waiting on results from hospital,
Babys head is 2/5 engaged so one more station before labour starts!!!

Got the moses basket set up last nite and started to pack my bags but think i'll need a bigger one, feels like i'm packing to go on holiday only i'm only going to petersfield!

Babys dad has decided today that he's not willing to contribute out of his pocket so will have to go down CSA but that will take forever i feel, but he just can't make life easy!

Sounds like me and my ex!

Well iive just turned 22, live in Portsmouth Hampshire with parents, Work for an insurance company which i leave in 2 weeks

I know the feeling of money being tight, Mum & dad have brought most of the expensive stuff for baby, ie pram, moses basket ...

I was on the depo injection but i had a really bad reaction to it, gave me a hormone imbalance and smaller chance of conceiving but was of that a few years ago!

Love the names you have picked out!
The middle names of Darcie: Maxine as it's my mums name and Elizabeth as it's a tradition in Jamies family, and Charlies: David and Donald after both my Grandads.

Howz your Pregnancy going better than mine i hope!

mmm not too bad. i have been signed off work for the last month and having a sexy back suport!! wahey!! meant to use crutches on really bad days but never do, just waddle! ankles etc are starting to swell abit now. got mid wifes on tuesday and got to see another consultant on tuesday. ( i have a heart defect and they are worried about the strain on my heart etc) youknow what everyone is like just fuss fuss fuss! you really do seem to be struggling! are you giving up your job completley or goingback after maternity? im lucky being a nanny, once babe is 4 months old or so will go back to working and can keep it with me. ( also will keep up teaching dance from sep onwards, baby will just have to come! ) my email is [email protected] if u ever want to chat on msn etc.
has your ex told his family etc? still not sure what to do about nicks family. i have said he has till the baby is registered then i will send them a little card and picture saying hello im here sort of thing from the baby. ( with a photocopy of the birth certificate with his name and signature on it!)
x

Gem1355 · 18/02/2005 21:27

Well i would like to go back to work as will need the money but can't afford childcare and have no one to look after baby while i go to work! So can't really go back.

Jamie has point blankly refused to tell his family but i think that is because he is afraid they will say he needs to start taking responsibility for things in his life!

Have you had your heart defect since birth, how much of a strain do they think it will be. Quite lucky in that respect only thing i have is asthma!

My e-mail address is [email protected]
