This cold just won't shift - 8 days and counting and I am miserable as sin! Have been sparingly taking Sudafed at night otherwise I wouldn't sleep at all, likewise a bit of paracetamol for the pounding headache, Olbas oil, but what else can I safely take?

Nothing - sadly

Try sticking your head over a bowl of boiling water with vicks/olbas oil/karvol in it and a tea towel on your head

My sympathies as I was like this a few weeks ago...

Aaaarghhh!! That's the response I'd feared.
Mmmm - can't wait for bedtime after I've boiled my head, it's bad enough already (sob).

ginger tea is good - pour boiling water over freshly grated ginger and let it steep add some lemon and sugar/honey to taste. Can really cut through chest stuff. I also find a thai curry can help massively.

Boots Honey, Lemon and Glycerine Linctus is OK to take in pg, it says so on the bottle and I checked with the pharmacist too, when I had a cold. Lockets are OK too.

karvol, methol crystals, paracetamol, honey & lemon.

hope you feel better soon
