Early Scan worries....

Had an early scan today at 7 weeks due to paranoia as has taken me a long time to get pregnant since an early m/c (at 6 weeks).

There was a heartbeat (cheers...) but embryo was measuring smaller than 7 weeks. Not by masses but a few days behind which the doctor said could be just ovulating late (although I know it was fairly accurate as I was on clomid but admit it could have been a couple of days later than standard). Has suggested I go back in 2 weeks to see what is occuring.

Just wondered if anyone has any experience of this ?

(PS on top of this we are off on hols in a couple of days... great timing.... (and to make my day even worse we've just to put it back by a day, change flights etc because DH has to work all weekend...grrrr....)

About to go out so apologies if I don't get straight back. Thanks.

all sounds good to me the next scan date wise should be abit more accurate. my 9 wk scan was 2 days out to what i thought and then 12 wks scan was 2 days more than i thought a cople of days before or after doesnt matter

Sounds quite normal to me too.

With my 3rd dc, I was 101% convinced that I was 12 weeks pg when I did the test because of LMP dates etc.
Because of this the MW sent me for a scan asap and when I went I turned out to be only 7 weeks and a few days.

Admittedly I was sure that my last LMP was an implantation bleed because it was so light and only lasted a couple of days.
When I discussed it with my MW she said that it would have been an actual period and I probably ovulated late too, hence my inaccurate guess.

Your next scan will be more accurate and could possibly change your dates again.

Congratualtions

Thanks for the positive words.

Annoyingly I have to wait 3 weeks as we are on hols but am trying to think that I am no worse off than I was yesterday as I have been convinced its all going to go wrong since I got a BFP so at least now I know its not ectopic (which I was irrationally worried about - have no history and only slight increased risk due to clomid but what's rational about early pregnancy !?).

I guess there's nothing I can do about it anyway ....... sigh....

the heartbeat is really what matters - the size can be all over the place so early.
