should i still carry my daughter in a sling?

right now, maybe you lot can settle an arguement for me.
i currently carry my daughter in a sling for short periods of time when my son asks to have a sit in the pushchair if he is tired. it is rarely for more than an hour at a time, unless he falls asleep then it can be 2.
i was told by someone yesterday that i was being selfish and irrsponsible to carry her as it could hurt my unborn baby. (im five weeks pregnant)
now my feeling on it is that the baby is as small as a grain of rice, and the lowest point of my daughters weight sits around the bottom of my ribs.
that leaves about 2 inches between baby and my bean... so therefore why would it harm the baby any more than the usual carrying, lifting and other day to day things we do as mothers?
fair enough when i start showing.. but now?
thoughts ladies?

I would be more worried about injuring yourself as I think your ligaments and joints change due to the hormones. If your daughter's heavy be careful of your back. I think babies are pretty robust in the womb and it takes some hard knocks to damage them especially when they are so tiny.

thats what i think, thank you!

no it won't do anything to your baby. how bizarre.
plenty of people sling their toddlers whilst pregnant with the next baby

Complete twaddle that it could hurt your unborn baby. If you want to keep doing it when you get larger it'd probably be worth looking into doing a back carry in an appropriate sling.

5 weeks? That's beyond ridiculous. Carry on as you are!!

thank you, its nice to know im not being selfish to think that its ok to carry her still.
i have a ring sling portandlemon, so i will switch to hip and then back as the pregnancy progresses!
