HAD sacn and no baby?? is it too early

Hi there my last period was the 5th June but I know for sure I ovulated very late indeed perhaps even into my 4th week. I did a pregnancy test 2 weeks agao and it showed positive. However I went for a scan on Monday and the pregnancy sac was just 8mm and they could not see a baby but she said I would only be about 4/5 weeks so do you think it is too early to see this or I am not pregnant?

I have terrible back pains but no more symtons other than tired. Thanks ina dvance

I had a scan at 5 weeks and they could just about make out the sac, so i would say it is too early to see the baby. I went back at 7 weeks and they found a heartbeat.

still too early, at that age the embryo is about the size of a full stop so lucky if see ababy let alone a hb.

yup too early, I had a scan last Thursday and I was only 5 weeks so only saw the sac. Have you got another scan booked? They booked me in again for two weeks time.

Im now 9 weeks and went for a scan when i was 7 weeks, and there was the sac, and a very very small dot that was the baby. I paniced as I expected to see the heartbeat as well, so I came away thinking the worst. The consultant told me not to worry as the sac looked normal and to return to him at 10 weeks for another scan. However, due to pains and panic I returned this week and got to see a little heartbeat. If I was you, I would hold tight for another week or 2, then return for another scan, and all should be well, especially if the sac was present.

I had a miscarriage in sept 06, and at that time I got the bfp at 4 weeks, went for a scan at 6 weeks and there was no sac at all. I then miscarried a few days later, so by having the sac present is a good sign

I had a scan at 5 +4 and all they could see was the sac. I went back at 7 +4 and there was the little baby. That baby is now about to turn 2 .

yeah nothing to worry about i went for a scan at 4/5 weeks and there was nothing there i realy worked myself up about it then ant 8 weeks 5 days i had a scan and saw my little baby and naw im 13 weeks 3 days and had a scan last thurs and he/shes grown so big already!

so dont worry was just bit to early x

Have you checked the date ^ maymum?

My friend's a MW and I told her that it appeared that some parts of the country offer scans at 7 weeks (according to other MNetters) and she was amazed (she works in Edinburgh) as often there is very little to see at that stage, so I would hold out for your 12 week scan. Good luck.
