I've just got a suprise BFP and am quite shell shocked to say the least.

Because this wasn't planned I haven't regularly been taking folic acid (I've been taking a B Complex which includes it but I've been quite slack and miss it for probably half the week)

Is this a problem?

Don't think I felt this nervous with the first!

... and, assuming you have a reasonably healthy diet, you'll be getting some folic acid from your diet in any case, eg breakfast cereals, porridge, broccoli, brussels, spinach, peas etc, so don't worry.

Congratulations!

congrats that is great news. yep get onto that folic acid

congratulations. Just start taking it now - as mentioned, most breads are now fortified with FA and it is naturally occurring in lots of foods.

Make sure and get a proper Folic Acid supplement as I found that Sanatogen Pronatal (despite being quite expensive!!) doesn't ahve the recommended levels of FA .
