popping noise

am 36 weeks and whilst sat at desk i just felt and heard a popping in my tum where baby is , it doesnt seem to be my waters breaking but am panicking that it could be something bad! anyone heard of this?

are you sure its not your waters? Mine went with an audible pop

It seems quite common based on the number of women who ask about it on MN. There have been a number of theories, but I don't think anyone's ever come up with a definitive answer -- certainly doesn't seem to be related to any problem, though.

I've also read a few posts where mumsnetters claim that their baby makes popping sounds (nothing to worry about apparently). My pelvis pops when I roll over at night (have spd)...
I'm not sure, but I like to think you'd have noticed if it was your waters breaking - not being sarcastic, was havgin this conversation with someone this morning. I asked if I'd def know during my NCT class (what if I was in the bath or on the loo) and was told you'd absolutely know if yuor waters went......

yes i dont think was my waters , seemed to be high up and no obvious signs of it being that! i am by nature a worrier and my first thought is oh it must be something bad but having posted here and had a google it seems a few have had the same thing

Baby kicking something that makes a hollow sound....? Sloshing around of water in uterus or stomach could possibly make this noise. Ummmmm
