I have a pain up inside my lady bits. I woke with it last night, but settled and it was gone when i woke up this morning. But the pain is back again now. feels quite high up and slightly more over to the left.

Ooh I remember that. Baby is bracing their feet against your ribs and forcing their head against the cervix because they're running out of room. It's quite unpleasant, you have my sympathy! Means they're going to start thinking about making a shift, though, so that's good! Try rubbing their bottom through your stomach to calm them.

I had these pains at 35 weeks, it was premature labour, I think it was a sign of my cervix dialating. I hope all is well. I'd give the hospital a ring and ask about it.

I had pains just like this the day before I had dd2. They were particularly bad just before my waters broke!

They are definatly giving birth pains. I remember them so well and ds is 9!

Im nearly 35wks and the odd times I get bit of a pain there to, sometimes when i walk or it may just ache. What that mean, she is just maybe resting around there?

this is my 3rd but i dont remember this pain at all from my other 2. its typical really as my dh is at work til the early hrs and my mum is also lol! but having said that i dont feel like im going to go into labour anytime in the next fews hrs or days lol. Only had straw coloured discharge, no blood or show or anything

I have had them in my last two pregnancies and am having them now at 29 weeks - tons of them today in fact. ANd I am having a 'dirty dancing' moment in that I feel as though I carried a watermelon. Up my fanjo. Though I am not entirely sure that is what 'Baby' in DD meant.....

LOL at the "dirty dancing" moment! I know exactly what you mean. I'm 40+4 and feel like I'm trying to keep a whole field of watermelons up there!

I am having this too and I'm 39+5 ... bloody horrible. Happens out of the blue and I always jump about and shriek because it's a proper stabbing pain.

OW! I hope it's a sign of cervix dialating but I don't think I'm that lucky.

Mine comes and goes, but it doesn't really hurt maybe last few minutes then that maybe it rest of the day, also I get very itchy down there-this normal also?

Daisy, if you can feel a slight tightening that comes and goes, but no/not much pain, then it's probably just braxton hicks (practice contractions) they aren't anything to worry about as long as they aren't constant, getting painful, you aren't leaking fluid etc

If it's a pain lower down in your hips/pelvis when you walk or at other times, an aching or a soreness in the muscles and bones, then it could be spd (symphysis pubis dysfunction) which is also common. All you can really do for spd is rest as much as possible. A lot has been written about it on MN.

The itching could be thrush, it's very, very common in pregnancy. If it is thrush you'd best get it sorted now. You don't want sore itchy thrush when you go into labour, it won't help matters. I suppose when everything's quite pressurised and swollen down there towards the end of pg it can also cause itchiness, but try not to scratch, and if you're worried about any of it ask your midwife. hth!
