What do bump bands actually do? Are they worth buying?

Am on 3rd pg and starting to peep a bit between trousers and tops. Not a good look in the office really

Do the bump band t hings stay in place, or roll up/down

v useful imho, they cover the gap

I had some from H&M and found them really good. They stayed in place. Also good after so you are not showing off your belly if bf.

Are they comfortable? Do they roll up/down?

Mine was brilliant -- £5 from Topshop and money v well spent. Didn't really ride up or down much, and meant I coukd carry on wearing normal tops for ages.

I'll tell you what I found better
a tight stretchy thing that supports your tummy and just goes under all your clothes - as if you were wearing a fitted vest
you get a better shape with fitted tops and skirts IMO

they do give some support if you feel like your bump is just hanging off you by the end of the day, plus covers all skin if tops are riding up

Good idea about covering your dough-belly when BF afterwards too (you might want to hang on to it Franny, unless you're one of those hugely irritating women who gte a flat stomach a week after giving birth but thanks for the offer!)

MrsBadger gave great advice on a thread recently( again) when she said to wear a vest with a big neckline (deep V, or low cut) under your noromal clothes - just lift up normal vest/tshirt and hoik nork out of neckline of the veste underneath - I thought that was a very good idea

If you use the Jojomamanbebe ones, they have a button on them to attach them to your trousers. I also found them really snug and comfy and cosy.

I never have a flat stomach - let alone after giving birth! I will hang on to the loose bump band but will not need the stretchy one I don't think, so let me know if you would like it

i actually found them totally useless but am intrigued at using the for covering tummy bulge when BF - great tip

the stretchy ones are good for post natal jelly belly - holds it all in iyswim

Another cheap trick (and for more interesting colours etc) is to get cheap/old t-shirts and vests and just cut the arms/neck off = effectively a tube of stretchy fabric. Guess you could hem the top if you wanted, but no one's going to see it.

I didnt need any actual supportive bands but did buy some cheap boob tubes from Pri mark in lots of different colours and used it to cover the gap and trousers if top button etc was open, meant I could stay in non maternity stuff a bit longer. It worked for me!

Agree with Sammy about using the bands over trousers/skirts with the buttons undone - I am doing this at the moment!

Plus can wear after when B/F to cover up jelly belly! I did x

Go to Primark and buy some of the funky stripy boob tubes for £1.50, great for belly band and post pregnancy gap filling.

I got two from Top Shop and just started wearing one today. It has shifted a bit, but I think it's a bit loose still - I'm only 4 months pregnant, so not very big of bump yet. I just put it on to test drive it.

Yes they are excellent- best £15 I spent.

As everyone says, you can wear them after you have the baby, to cover hideous flabby tummy for modesty when breast-feeding. In fact I have worn my bump band almost daily for the last - counts on fingers- year. God, is it really that long?
