It's a nightmare for trying to work out what you'll get on maternity leave though, as it can't really take account of changing circumstances (for instance, if your employer pays you 26 weeks full pay, 13 weeks statutory pay, then nothing for the last bit). You can get a rough idea by averaging things out though.
