Oral sex during pregnancy

I wish I'd had the confidence not to name change for this, but here goes...

Is it ok to receive oral during pregnancy?

I've abstained for 2 pregnancies because of some vague fear that somehow air could enter the MuffyMiffy area and hence the womb and damage the baby.

Is this mental or actually scientifically based on hard (hur) evidence of some kind?

Genuinely would like to know, as I'm currently pg with no 3.

Very fine, although I always thought way to initmate during pg, my sex drive goes up just not for that!!

Hmmm, but is the cervix ever airtight and if so, how one earth does one become pregnant in the first place. Or have bleeds, etc.

Does the peritoneal cavity theory work in reverse? Are fanny farts actually a form of bloat expulsion? If so, why are they taboo and should they not be revered? Encouraged and intentionally attained even?

FWIW, I think we could do with an Urban Myth of the Pregnancy and Birth kind thread!

In answer to earlier queries re. sex within four days post birth? Allegedly they were both up for it, she enjoyed it, as did he.

dp seems to have gotten keener on oral since i've been preg... maybe he likes the taste

unfortuantely i'm in the lackadaisycal school of thought, amn't a huge fan at the best of times and find it thoroughly off putting when preg.... poor dp

Because of all the extra hormones going on down there, your "love juice" - tastes different, stronger! Sorry but the only other word I could think of was discharge and thats certainly not sexy

So make sure he has had a drink or two, he wont think about it then.

Sex in any shape is ok during pregnancy. There have been 2 recorded cases of death due to embolism attributed to postnatal sex within the first week of birth. I can look them up if anyone's interested. For some reason, both mother's drug use was mentioned in the cases, but not entirely sure why, as cause of death was not due to drugs. I distinctly remember reading about them when I was pregnant with ds1 as I thought it was such an unusual cause of death.
