Had a 12 week nuchal scan last Thursday and she said that I had a low placenta but this is normal for 12 weeks, is this correct cos I'm a born worrier!!!

Yes, totally normal. I had a low-flying placenta at my 20-week scan in my first pregnancy, and they did an extra scan at 32 or was it 34 weeks, by which point it was all tucked up nicely out of the way. Something like 9/10 people with low placentas at 20 weeks end up with no problems at all, placenta out of the way, thunderbirds are go for a vaginal birth.

It's probably even more likely that it'll be out of the way in time if it was spotted as early as 12 weeks!

[imagine a not-very blown up balloon with a £2 coin attached very close to the opening. It's not attached to the opening, it's attached close to the opening and as the balloon is at the moment, it is covering or partly covering the opening. Now blow the balloon up big big big. The £2 coin is still attached where it was, but because the balloon has stretched so much, it's nowhere near the opening now. Hurrah.]

I managed not to worry about it and just to feel smug at getting an extra scan at 34 weeks
