'Period' type pains at 15 weeks - normal?

I'm asking as I had these from about 6-12 weeks but then they stopped.

Is it normal to get them again, this is my 3rd baby but I can't remember.

I'm worried as I have been given crutches and am thinking maybe they are causing it??

But if its normal thats OK

I seem to recall this too...hope everything is ok.

If you are worried have a chat with your midwife but I recall having loads of pains.

I used to dread going to the loo sometimes because I was expecting to bleed. Never did though. Hope everything is ok x

I suppose everything is starting to grow and stretch now.

Weebesom, I know what you mean, I did that yesterday, was scared to wipe, lol.

Yes it is very normal, I remember ringing my midwife when pg with DD1 at 15 weeks terrified I was miscarrying as the pains were so intense. Just your ligaments stretching.

I too have had sharpish pains in my sides this morning (am 10 weeks) but I am sure everything is normal, this is my third pg as well.

Litterbug · 07/07/2008 11:09

Thank you, I feel much better

You will have your hands full! Good luck! I imagine you are due around Christmas/New Year.

I have a nearly 6 year old and a 9 month old - I am very worried about the small gap I will have between this LO and DD2.

Litterbug · 07/07/2008 13:36

Wow! How far are you?

DS1 was 9 months old when I got pregnant with DS2.

Im due Boxing day

Hi,

Yeh this is normal (so i am asured!) Im 20 weeks pg with my first and have had them since week 4. They come and go on different days but some can be quite bad with the radiating back ache too. I've been told everything is normal and it is just muscles aching from stretching.

pgwithnumber3 · 07/07/2008 20:21

I am 10 weeks tomorrow Litterbug. Stopped breastfeeding DD2 in April, had period end of April, got pregnant mid May! So DD2 was 8 months old when I conceived...

The ironic part is that I am supposedly infertile! DD1 was IVF, DD2 came naturally and this one has too. Wonderful but I am ever so nervous as to how I will cope.

I am 13weeks with no.2 and am having really bad pains from ligaments stretching. My midwife told me they are more common and more painful with subsequent pregnancies since everything stretches a lot quicker and also stretches in quick spurts rather than more gently and gradually with your first. HTH.
