Let's talk nipple stimulation, anyone done it, does it work?

Been reading up on it and apparently you have to do it for 15 minutes every hour for at least 3 hours

Can you use a breastpump would that have the same effect?

Hey SK, I was reading that breastpump isn't good. The best way is to stimulate the whole nipple + areola with the palm of your hand and sort of masssage it. Mine are way too sensitive, I'm going to be in for a shock when it comes to BF, which I plan to do for the first 6 months!

best thing to do is wait til you have a braxton hicks contraction and then do it during the contraction. it will strengthen the contractions and if you're lucky encourage them to turn into the real thing.

I did it with dc4 as the previous 2 were 19 and 21 days late. Certainly brought on contraction type feelings and she was a wk early. Can't say if it worked but at least i felt i ws doing somethging.
