Stretch Marks....

I'm 30 weeks pregnant and just starting to get the faintest lines on my hips, nothing dramatic yet but i've never had them pre pregnancy so i don't know how quickly they develop. Is it normal to get them at this stage? Is it likely they're going to get worse in the next 10 weeks?

Any experience and advice welcome. I'm using johnsons baby oil at the minute.

Is it normal to feel SOOO anxious about stretch marks and getting a jelly belly post pregnancy? Suprisingly, I'm so relaxed about my actual pregnancy!

Mine have just appeared in the last week (30 weeks too) and they are angry and red. Yours may well go red or they may stay faint. Either way, they fade to silver after a while. Bio oil and vitamin e capsules opened up and put directly on them helps with the redness.

I used oil every day religiously and didnt get any stretch marks until around 38 weeks - then ended up going 2 weeks over due and got loads of them (mind you DS was rather large when he came out). Just keep moisturising loads - lots of oil (any oil will do - bio oil is pretty good to use if you've already got marks as helps with the healing - you can get it in boots) and dont worry about the post pregnancy belly (it goes eventually and you're far too preoccupied with your bundle of joy for the first few weeks anyway...)

I'm SOOO excited about having a baby!! When is your due date Kat?

I just wish I could avoid the strech marks cos i'm only young so still fairly image conscious but hey ho! Bring on my girlieeee!

Hi,

I used to have pretty bad stretch marks and red scars around my belly region ever since I gave birth to my three kids.I had tried Vitamin E oil and cocoa butter which a number of people had recommended but unfortunately it didn't seem to work too well. My Doctor had even suggested that I go for a Tummy Tuck. I then recently read an article about a lady who supposedly got rid of her stretch marks using a particular cream. I tried it and it worked really well. It took a number of weeks but my stretch marks soon faded away. You can read the lady's article at the link below.
